When is a good time for your motor home, your one and only place of residence and vehicle, to decide to pack a sad and dump all it's coolant out of the radiator?

A) On a freezing cold winters evening.

B) The night before your husband needs to get to Tauranga to take an exam at 9:00 the next morning.

C) A few days before you are due back in Hamilton to house sit for a friend.

Or D) All of the above.

Yep that's correct D) All of the above.

Still Windy November

Even in the Hawke's Bay the wind has continued to howl. We found some shelter for a few days in the orchards around Hastings but in the end we just gave up trying to avoid it and ventured on. Luckily we did, as we found some nice places to stay and managed to sample some of the lovely sunshine the Hawke's Bay usually has to offer.

We didn't find any white bait though but did manage to find that hole in the tyre we'd been travelling around on since we were up in the Coromandel during winter.
Now how did the words of that song go again?

Wet September

Thank goodness for sunny Whakatane, hot showers at  Matata (DOC), our No 1 ( First Love) Pop at Thorton and a few feeds of whitebait.

There are plenty of places to stay, freedom camping spots, amazing DOCs and some lovely POPs

Lots of lovely people who've been missing you, while you've been fighting with the council and boycotting their stops

This is our 4WD, off the grid, mini house truck and permanent home on the road.
In brief the back is 4.4 sq meters (1.8m x 2.4m).
Yep that's less than 50 sq feet.
Shower, toilet, sink, fridge, 12 volt water heating and cooking.
No gas or 230 volt hook up and one brilliant little diesel heater.
