2021

Well that one took us both by surprise. Didn't expect another lockdown. Good job we had good friends with a section. Not sure where we'll isolate when Omicron hits, can't really expect our friends to welcome covid with open arms.
Oh well bring it on 2022 let's see whats you're made of!

2020

I think I missed a couple of posts lol. Like the whole of 2020. I can't think of a better year to have missed.

Big City Nights

Well Auckland really did redeem it self this month. We usually drive straight through the city but finding a few new places to stop made for a much more pleasant experience. Oh plus I think the Scorpions concert really did help. Def Leppard weren't too bad either lol.

Maybe 2018

Maybe I'm going to complete The 💯 Day Plastic Free Challenge, or Maybe I'm not but at least I'm on the Waka and going to give it a go. I'm definitely going to be reducing the mounds of soft plastic packaging that seem to be building up around us. I don't remember all this in the house but then again I had other cooking options and and local/familiar stores where I knew I could get the plastic free produce. Wish me luck especially as we head north towards unfamiliar ground/shops.

Glorious March

Lovely weather this March so nice to be able to enjoy the sun for so long (ie unlike the south Island).
Our task of minimising the waste is going well. Compost deposited via a lovely lady from the Facebook Zero Waste in NZ group. Recycling sorted as usual and only a small bag for the landfill this month but you really don't want to see how much soft plastic packaging I have. Unfortunately we'll need to keep the soft plastics with us until we visit the Waikato again as not many places in the North Island have the facilities to recycle soft plastics but at least it doesn't take up as much room as the rest of the recycling. Also finished the last bottle of washing up liquid so the transistion to soap is done. Not sure if this is the best environmentally friendly soap (unsustainable palm oil and all that) but at least it's a step in the right direction. I think.

Thumbs Up

Thumbs up to a more positive effort to minimize our waste while on the road. Cloth bags organised, food scraps composted, soft plastics sorted and just one tiny plastic bag of waste to go to the landfill this month.

Ha, ha

Ha, ha, Mark thought he'd managed to put down the tools but a few electrical gremlins of his own came to find him. Well at least he did manage to get to the beach.

Hiding

Eventually managed to put down the tools and find somewhere to hide away for the Summer.

Whoops

Wow it's nearly December and I haven't got round to putting up October's post yet.  Erm I wonder why? We must have been busy catching up on jobs. Thanks AA (not).
